Our commitment
We want the James Taylor Electric Violinist website and enquiry process to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use a keyboard, screen reader, screen magnification, voice input, reduced-motion settings or other assistive technology.
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of maintaining the site rather than a one-off exercise. If something prevents you from getting the information you need or making an enquiry, please contact us and we will try to provide a practical alternative.
Our accessibility target
Our working target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA where reasonably practicable.
This is a target, not a formal conformance claim. The site has received an internal review, but it has not yet been through a full independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit.
What we have done
Accessibility-related features currently built into the site include:
- responsive layouts intended to remain usable across desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes;
- semantic page regions and structured headings on the principal pages;
- keyboard-operable navigation, links, buttons, cookie controls and modal controls;
- visible labels on the site's own enquiry fields;
- alternative text on principal content images;
- focus handling within the cookie-preferences dialog;
- support for reduced-motion preferences on selected animations and controls; and
- text-based contact routes as an alternative to relying on a single form or embedded service.
Known limitations
Some content is supplied by third parties or in formats that we do not fully control. This currently includes:
- the native website enquiry and confirmed-booking forms;
- the optional Google My Maps performance map;
- external social-media and venue websites; and
- downloadable documents, including the wedding information PDF, which may not provide the same accessibility as the equivalent HTML content.
Some older or archived material may also have less complete alternative text or structure than newer pages. We will improve material as it is reviewed or replaced.
Help, alternative formats and reasonable adjustments
If you cannot use part of the website, need information in a different format, or need an adjustment to the enquiry or booking process, contact us and explain what you are trying to access and what would help.
Examples could include providing information in plain text by email, discussing the booking by telephone instead of using an online form, or working with you on another reasonable way to complete the enquiry or booking process.
Accessibility arrangements for a live performance may also depend on the venue and the nature of the event, so please raise any relevant requirements as early as reasonably possible.
Assessment status
This statement was updated on 11 August 2026 following an internal review of the current website structure, navigation, forms, cookie controls and third-party content.
A formal independent accessibility audit has not yet been completed. We therefore do not claim that every page or third-party component fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.
